Interesting; I am something of a Space goober so I like to keep up on alternate renewable foods — though a spore producing mold might be a disasterous choice for a closed space habitat.
It also reminds me less of Soilent Green than of a more obscure 80s science fiction (who’s name escapes me) about a food called “Goo?” that became really popular but which eventually turned the people who ate it into Goo. Quorn is a Parasitic mold — Let’s hope it doesn’t readily adapt to new hosts.

yay for quorn! as a euro-veggie of long standing i’ve been eating it for years and years, with relatively few serious side-effects.
The new Texas Double MacFungus burger, everything you never knew you didn’t want in a burger, and more!
oh, but it’s so very good – it’s what i had for dinner last night, in fact. i’m hardly afraid at all…
It is jummy indeed….I eat it often… once made something with it when my dad was visiting… and later he said ‘oh that was very good, i was afraid you’d make some weird vegetarian thing… but this chicken was nice’
But doesn’t the egg in the ingredients violate some sort of vegetarian code?
