  • Things I’ve Learned Recently

Be available to people you want to be available for you.

Beauty isn’t skin deep. Beauty is beauty, and everything else is incidental.

“I’m not against collecting stuff. But it’s all incidental, not integral.”

Shaming a man doesn’t accomplish anything, especially if he’s too stupid to know how to properly be ashamed.

Judging someone by their circumstance invites them to judge you by your circumstance.

Power doesn’t corrupt. Power tempts people, who corrupt themselves.

Words are the single most powerful thing humans can weild.

  • the last took years.

i wrote something about words, and their power, a very short while ago in the big scheme of things, but it feels like a very long time ago…

“I will believe in a promise long after it’s been broken if it was delivered by way of air over tongue and lip, or in black and white.”

i don’t make or take promises lightly, but i have been known to weild words a little careless.  it’s a danger inherent in being a passionate human being who lives very, very much in each moment…

however, when i say, “Paul, you fuqin’ amaze me.” I really mean it, and long after I’ve said it?  I’m still thinking it.

    Thanks for being my friend.

  • all good things to learn.

  • Thanks for the reminders.

  • How can someone SHAME a man? One can belittle someone, but only the person themselves can CHOOSE to feel shame. People can belittle me all they want. It might eventually get to me, but I probably won’t feel ashamed of not being how THEY think I should be. And if I did feel shame over their words, then I am injuring myself with my OWN weapon.

For me, ACTIONS are still more powerful than words. And I stand by that. Some of my deepest thoughts and beliefs go unspoken, yet I live them. And that’s POWER. As for other people’s words… I glean what means something to me, and either tuck the rest away for later, or discard it. I’ve learned that any idiot can say big words. But it’s a genius who LIVES their words.

I loved all of your other notes.

  • Thank you Homer, very thought provoking.
