  • ..and all that time we thought he was working on his next Xanga post. (Maybe it's my recent bird-photography craze, but let's stay back in the bushes for a while so as not to scare the quarry..)

  • ..and did you notice, we now have "15 minutes to edit our comments" on xanga. Blogspot, eat worms!

  • I've been wondering where he went!

  • what's funny is that I had thought about him, among some other xangans, who had apparently dropped off the radar....

    thank you :)

  • I found him - a couple of blogs with recent entries! I will have to catch up. I'm another person who has been thinking about Ira lately.

I suspect that doctoral student thing caught up with him - and blogging on Blogger is a lot less of a time suck than blogging here is. There isn't as much social interaction that comes as part of the package.

  • @scifiknitter - Yah, but look at what he's writing. It's big stuff.

  • @HomerTheBrave - Very big stuff. Ira is a guy who changes the way I see things when I read his words.

I had quite the insight tonight as I read Passive Learning - "Think about this: Who succeeds? Who are the classroom stars?... In universities it is the students who will "grow up" to be professors
and who will be, in a dozen years, indistinguishable from their former
teachers."  I saw my daughter as one of those successful university students. I want to introduce Ira's blog to her so that if she does become a professor some day, she has a clue about developing a teaching approach that is more inclusive of different learning styles.

  • ..forgot to mention: followed your link and spent the next two hours reading.. and contemplating my tenure as governor of NY, despite my synesthesia.. "What's with all these green voters from Oswego?". Thanks for the legwork, homie.

  • Thanks, good to know. I miss him too.
