  • Second Life: Pud And Jel 5

Steff made another one. I’m the blue jello in some shots.

I went with Steff to an in-world conference about machinima (meaning, videos made inside video games). Everyone else was asking about what software to use and what kind of computer you need. She was agitating for better storytelling, asking questions like, “What makes the product a film rather than a series of rushes?”

    Yay Steff!

  • Nice.

I thought about you and your Second Life while driving yesterday.

  • that’s a very cool thing, there. so does she give you direction and you move around in the movie?

  • I went to her blog & then the Blip.tv videos, **very** cool! What a great way to make stories.

I totally agree with her about the need for a good story. This is so true in online games, too, it can be a gorgeous game, with lots of detail put in to the graphics, etc… but with a poor plot, it just does not keep my interest.

  • Hmmm another thought for her….
Not sure how this could be done well, but make an open ended story, and let people finish it on their own by going to SL and jumping into an existing storyline. If that makes any sense.  ;)
