Iraq Study Group
Whenever I see 'Iraq Study Group' in the news lately, I can't help but read 'Office of Special Plans' instead. I have to take a few seconds to get my bearings before proceeding.
It's rather confusing how many elements there are to the total incompetence of the Bush administration.

I begin to wonder if changing our regime will really change anything about us. It must, we hope, right? Certainly Clinton would not have done all this--yet, they made some pretty big blunders too. And I wonder, does the government even have that much control anymore. Isn't it more the Corpocracy now?

' it is likely that any recommendations will have been "tacitly approved in advance" by the president '
The fact that they decided to withold their reccomendations until after the elections makes me think that they might have some reality in their assessment.
That doesn't lessen the significance of the fact that they withheld this until *after* the elections for political reasons, but politics aside, they may still ultimately come forward with some rational proposals.
and now Bush intiated a PARALLEL group to combine reports from all agencies. More soldiers die everyday while we are there and the best asnwer is...let's relax, kick back and study this harder. Bullshit...
