A Study Of The Effects Of Sunlight On Landscape Photography:
Before:
After:
Results: Inconclusive.
I got distracted into going down to that park. There's one small load of stuff left to move out of the house, and then I'll be done, but on the way over, I saw two red tailed hawks doing a dance over the water. I had to pull over and try to get a picture, but by the time I had parked, the crows had chased them away.
I did get some nice pictures of ducks, however. W00t!

cool pics...
Great pics. Nice extreme contrast in the first two.
Congrats on the move. When you're all settled, let's go out for burritos and beer again.
It's been waaaay too long.
"Results: Inconclusive."
such a brilliant line. poetry.
Did you use a polarizing filter on that second pic? The colour is amazing regardless.
Hooray for ducks!
I didn't use any kind of filter on the second shot (or the first or third, for that matter). The clouds have dark, depressing linings (rather than happy silver ones) because they're reflecting the lake, and the dark landscape underneath them.
The other thing you might be seeing is that I might not have embed a color profile when I imported the images... Sheepish grin here. So they're supposed to be in Adobe RGB colorspace, but they might not be. It's especially evident in the duck pic, because the green of the grass looks like you just took peyote.
And I'll take a moment to say that I love the word 'colorspace.'
