Problem: Hermit crab populations decreasing because human pollution restricts the growth of the univalve cephalopods the crabs depend on for housing. There’s a housing shortage for hermit crabs.
Solution: Manufacture tiny plastic houses for hermit crabs. Cover the cost by selling advertising space on these little pseudo-shells.

I read this in my subs browser and I thought you were joking. But it is for real. It is cool…in a weird, scientific kind of way. I like that.
:::imagining little hermit crabs emblazoned with Pepsi logos, McDonald’s M’s and the Aflac duck scurrying along the beach:::::
how very odd.
I can’t be sure it’s ‘for real’ as you say. It’s presented with a straight face in an online arts and culture magazine.
What I admire about it is the audacity. Imagine hermit crabs crawling around with little Halliburton logos on their backs.
Is nothing sacred? Advertising ON animals?? And I always hated the ads on the sideboards during figure skating! Ugh.
