Interesting set of articles in Slate outlining A Real War On Terrorism.
Particular interest should be paid to the one that supports the argument that the amount of discontent in the world is becoming a highly significant national-security variable. It’s the key element missing from our foreign policy.

I read mostly excerpts because there’s just too much to keep up with, but you make good points in both blogs. When you think about it, the motivations of mid eastern terrorists and our own homegrown bombers aren’t all that different. The whole world needs economic and political justice (though I hate the vagueness of that word). Do I think it will ever come about? Not a chance. Those with the most power will never give it up.
