I have a question for the general populace:
If one is critical of the policy of the federal government with regards to the cause of international justice, where is a legitimate forum to voice such criticism?
The letter to the editor won’t do it. The letter to the elected official won’t do it. The letter to the TV network won’t do it, the letter to NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’ won’t do it. The public access cable show won’t do it. Standing on a streetcorner shouting won’t do it. Publishing a book about it won’t do it.
Where then?

Terrorism is evil, Homer, and it must be eradicated.
Everyone knows that!
Exactly! So why are we pulling out of the UN’s world court?
Personally, I’ve lost ALL faith in the government and politics/politicians in general after our last Presidential “election.” If that doesn’t prove how those people are gonna do exactly what THEY want to do –to hell with voters & constituents– then I don’t know what does.
Although it doesn’t change anything, bitching about it on Xanga is a great way to let off some steam.
i’m trying to think of people who’ve confronted similar situations in the past and found creative solutions. but i haven’t got much further than gandhi.
When he was here, Michael Moore contended we all have to run for an office. No matter how local. He claims he was nobody special. Just a restless class clown who ran for schoolboard because he was tired of getting paddled by one principal. Now he is *well* heard, and while he isn’t exactly a forum per se, he’s pretty popular. And he’s part of a movement to resurrect the chatauqua.

Hopefully this thing makes it to Seattle. If it does, promise me you’ll go.
